FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONSQuestion: I am using Mac. So I can't open the .exe file I received. Answer: Use Stuffit Expander to expand the .exe file. Please watch the video "Unpacking Downloaded Files". If you don't have the free Stuffit Expander, you can download it at: https://www.stuffit.com/mac-expander.html. Question: I received the instrument file (.nki) in a separate email. How should I install it? Answer: The instrument file (.nki) should be placed in the instruments folder. Please watch the video "Installing the Instrument File". Question: I try to install the instrument by using Kontakt's "Add Library" function, but when I point to the library's folder I receive a message that no library is found. Answer: Kontakt and Kontakt Player expect to find the instrument file (.nki) for a Kontakt Player instrument in a certain location, and if it isn't there, it will report that no library is found. To avoid this, the instrument file must be placed in the "Instruments" folder inside the library folder. In case the instrument file (.nki) is delivered in a separate email you must place it in the "Instruments" folder before you install the instrument in Kontakt/Kontakt Player. Please watch the video "Installing the Instrument File". The video also shows the correct folder structure necessary for Kontakt to find the instrument file in the "Instruments" folder. (Note: the instrument file must be unpacked to be accepted by Kontakt, i.e. it should have the file extension ".nki") Question: I have downloaded the files for the instrument I bought, but I don't know how to install it to be able to play it. Answer: For Kontakt Player instruments such as Art Vista Virtual Grand Piano, Art Vista Back Beat Bass, and the GrooveMaster bass libraries you must first install the free "Kontakt 5 Player": https://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/products/producer/kontakt-5-player/ You can also use the full Kontakt software if you already own that. Unpack the files downloaded from Art Vista. On a PC you just double-click on the downloaded files. On a Mac, use Stuffit Expander. Please watch the video for complete instructions. If you don't have the free Stuffit Expander, please download it from: https://www.stuffit.com/mac-expander.html After the downloaded files are expanded, and Kontakt Player has been installed, use Kontakt's function "Add Library" to install the instrument. Please watch the video "Installing a Kontakt 5 Player Instrument". Question: How do I activate my Kontakt Player instrument after I have installed it? Answer: In the left browser pane of Kontakt you will see a logo for the new instrument. As long as it is not activated, there will show a button "Activate" beside the logo. Click on the "Activate" button and fill in the serial number from the email with your download link. See also the video "Activating a Kontakt 5 Player Instrument". Question: I bought Malmsjö Acoustic Grand and Cool Vibes, but I can only use them in "demo" mode in the free Kontakt Player. Answer: Malmsjö Acoustic Grand and Cool Vibes are sample libraries. To use them you need a software sampler such as Kontakt (full software), EXS24 (Logic), or GigaStudio. Only so called Kontakt Player Instruments can be used with the free Kontakt Player software. Question: I bought the Art Vista Back Beat Bass and the GrooveMaster libraries, but I am unable to load them into Kontakt 4. Answer: You must use Kontakt 5, or the free Kontakt 5 Player. Art Vista Back Beat Bass and the GrooveMaster libraries are Kontakt 5 instruments and are not compatible with earlier versions of Kontakt/Kontakt Player. Question: I didn't receive any serial number for my product. Answer: The serial number was included at the top of the email with the download link for the instrument.
