Virtual Grand Piano Update Page

FREE VGP1 SOFTWARE UPGRADE TO VGP 2.0: Virtual Grand Piano can now be upgraded free of charge to version 2.0 through the Update Manager in NI Service Center. Please see upgrade instructions below.

OPTIONAL REPLACEMENT VGP 2.0 SAMPLE POOL FOR VGP1: The VGP 2.0 sample pool includes improved unisons and minor tuning corrections in addition to a general re-editing of the samples, and will make an update from VGP1 to VGP 2.0 identical to the current retail version. Installation of the replacement sample pool requires update to the latest VGP 2.0 version after the initial VGP1-to-VGP2 upgrade. (found under the "Virtual Grand Piano 2" tab in Update Manager). NOTE: Currently a workaround must be used when loading the updated sample pool. Until a VGP2 update is available you must manually direct VGP2 to where the new sample pool is by clicking "Browse for Folder", and navigate to the folder where the .nkx-files are stored. This will add a few seconds to the loading time.

The Virtual Grand Piano 2 upgrade brings Kontakt Player 2 compatibility for Mac OS X (Universal Binary) and Windows XP/Vista.
Please note that in order to install this update, you'll need to request an upgrade serial number. Make sure that your email address is up-to-date. The link is found in the update manager.

Important Library Installation Info:

After installation you will have to manually install the .nks library files. Insert the original CDs/DVDs and copy the .nks files from the disks to the "Virtual Grand Piano 2" folder. Alternatively, you should be able to copy the three .nks files from their current location on your hard drive to the Virtual Grand Piano 2 Library folder.

This initial update from VGP to VGP2 will allow you to use the original VGP sample pool, the three .nks files included with VGP 1.0. Any further update after this, will require the new edited sample pool (.nkx-files). This sample pool can be ordered separately on DVD from Art Vista shortly.
